Reddit is a community network based on specific interests or themes. Anyone can join, and you search for communities that interest you. In general, you can rate content, post funny memes, and discuss things relating to the subreddit. Technically, each subreddit is a forum. Today, we are going to discuss the popular subreddit called Wall Street Bets (WSB). It’s seemingly where all of the wild investors come to play.
Wall Street bets is well-known for being fast-paced, confusing, and full of excitement. It’s where the top traders go to gamble, and it can come with significant gains or losses. With that said, people need an outlet to talk about various trades they’ve made, goof off, and let off steam. Wall Street Bets at Reddit can surely help you do this.
As with all subreddits, there are rules that you must follow. Since this one pertains to Wall Street, many of those rules focus on not manipulating the market. Therefore, you can’t join the group and talk about a particular stock that is going to skyrocket. Also called insider trading, it can be damaging people who put too much money on that stock, and then it fails. Instead, the goal here is to discuss stocks and the market in general.
The rules specifically state that you can’t talk about penny stocks, cryptocurrency, and pump-and-dumps. This subreddit primarily focuses on memes that are uploaded that relate to the stock market. They aren’t supposed to be generic, so you are sure to find something relatable.
How the hell Understand what's going on!?
When you first join Reddit and WBS, you may be a little confused. However, there is a dark-blue bubble by the title of each subreddit that explains what it is and why it’s there. Options can include:
- Sh*tpost – These are jokes that may or may not be offensive in nature.
- Stocks – Such subreddits show specific stocks and how they are doing.
- Gains and Losses – These posts usually show a specific person’s profit or loss from a particular stock.
- Discussion – Such posts are there looking for people to comment on them so that a full-on debate or discussion can be had.
- Memes – These are memes that can be found on the internet or created. They are often pictures with a caption explaining it. Some are meant to be funny, while others are designed to be rude or poke fun at someone/something.
With so many options, it can be a challenge to find a thread that you like. Some people just browse to read what others are posting, similar to other social media websites. You can comment, share, and save these subreddits. Clicking directly on the subreddit allows you to read the full piece, comment, and more. At the very top, there are two arrows – one pointing up and one down. You can ‘upvote’ or ‘downvote’ a particular posting by clicking the appropriate indicator.
The goal of most Reddit users is to have a lot of upvotes so that their post is shown first on the original posting page.
As you can see from the three subreddits above, there are many things to see and read while on the site, and WSB, in particular. You can find out information, get a good laugh, and stay up on current events. Those who often trade on the stock market are sure to enjoy their time on this forum thread, at least when they aren’t trading to try and make money.
