How about your Page Rank ?

Just a few days ago there was another Google Page Rank (PR) run. They sent out their crawlers and checked how they are rating every single webpage or blog out there. Google has become so powerful that a lot of people and companies think the only way to rate a website or blog is to check out it´s PR. The only problem about it is you can have a good PR but not too much visitors and if you want to put an ad on a website the number of visitors is more important than a PR. In the end the PR is only the point of view of a big company called Google. If you use any other ads aside from Google AdSense this will negatively affect your PR. Sure Google`s Page Rank is very important for traffic you are getting form Google search engine but if you are big enough, the PR is not so important anymore. This time my Page Rank was slammed from PR 2 to PR 1. The Google Page Rank Update is running every 3 month so there is time for everyone of us to improve your states. The blog whose PR I expected to up, didn’t. But the other blogs did. One went up 1 notch, the other 4 notches. Well, gotta work on that other one.

Pr does not affect your site position in the SERP’s and I will take high targeted traffic over this little green bar any day…
Few of my sites also have dropped in pr after this update.
I am not sure if it’s the case but looks like Google have improved spiders algorithm to search for content. I have a few domains with almost empty pages and they kept PR2-3 for over a year and only this time were downgraded to 0.

How often does Google do PR updates? My PR went up on one blog (PR2 to PR4) and down on the rest. I put linkworth on two of my blogs which sent PR2 to zero on one blog and PR 3 to 2 on another one. Oh btw, though I use entrecard reqularly, I actually found your site from John Chow.

I earned Page rank 1 from 0 after 4 months of blogging. It’s not too bad, but I think we need to create a lot one way links towards our blog and give less link out especially to lower PR sites.

Thank you for inviting me, but I don’t think we have the same approach!! I’m a Granny who wants her poetry ‘out there’. I don’t think there’s a possibility of making money with my Blog!!!! I’d love to, of course! I’ll think you’re a genius if you can come up with a suggestion!!! Germans are supposed to be efficient aren’t they?

Forgive me if I’m not doing the right things regarding blogging. I’m still feeling my way.

My blog PR climbs up so slowly. This update goes up from 1 to 2. Sorry to hear yours slapped down to 1. Never mind, it’s just a warning that you have to work harder..

I got PR2 from PR1…consider ok coz never work for that…but some of over friends doing very well…I did post list some of them at http://bonoriau.com

thanks fo the info. good post.

i never realised about the ads thing as being negative. i dont use any on my blog but i have friends whos pr have gone down, and they have many so im prob guessing thats why!

I need to work on this - I’ve got tons of incoming links, articles that have gone pretty well on digg, My alexa has been in the 200,000 mark for a whole year, and my PR is still a 0?

I’m about to knock on Matt Cutt’s door and say “what the hell?”
